Cameron Lings is an award‑winning emerging contemporary artist and sculptor, based in North Yorkshire. Since graduating with an MA in Fine Art from The MIMA School of Art and Design in 2021, his work has been exhibited across the UK and internationally. His multidisciplinary practice has also been featured in international books, zines, magazines, and curated anthologies.
He has taken part in several artist residencies, where he has spent time at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, and most recently The Redbarn Artist Residency Programme on Ireland’s southern coast.
In his studio, based in the North East of the UK, Cameron continues to refine a distinctive, data-driven sculptural language. His work translates statistical, literary, and numeric data into complex sculptural form—primarily realized in wood, metal, and mixed media. These artworks interrogate contemporary themes such as climate change, digital culture, and environmental and social inequalities, merging conceptual depth with material experimentation.
Cameron showcases works that push the boundaries of conceptual and symbolic language. These include explorations in scale, material, and texture, allowing him to experiment with aesthetic values in three dimensional shape and form.
Alongside sculpture, Cameron develops a parallel drawing practice that experiments with visual and conceptual variables. His drawings—often rendered in ink or digital illustration, often explore the realm of chance, chaos, repetition, pattern, and structure within his illustrative forms.
